Petzl MYO RXP Headlamp
New for 2009, the regulated and programmable Petzl MYO RXP Headlamp has a full range of features that offer versatility for varying conditions. Ideal for backcountry hiking or adventure racing, multiple lighting levels allow you to vary light output from 8 lumens to 160 lumens! Ten programmable settings allow you to regulate the length of the beam from 75.5 feet (23 meters) to 252.6 feet (77 m) on standard settings and an astounding 318 feet (97m) on boost! By selecting the appropriate setting, you can also maximize efficiency, increasing burn time from 50 hours to 95 hours. A regulated feature provides constant lighting power and automatically switches to a reserve power mode when batteries are almost discharged.A tiltable housing enables the MYO RXP to aim its beam where you need it, while a flip-up wide angle lens allows you to adjust the beam from a proximity flood beam to a distance spot beam. The MYO RXP is powered by three Alkaline AA batteries (included) and is compatible with lithium batteries (sold separately) for better performance at lower temperatures. A battery level indicator light warns you when batteries are 70% depleted and again when batteries are 90% depleted. With batteries, the MYO RXP weighs 6.2 ounces.

Reviews
blinded by the light
Main thing.. this light is bright. I often take this light out for everything- from walking my dog to hiking in the back country. I often have my friends with me and they usually tend to turn their light off when I'm around. This light over powers almost any headlamp I've come up against. A few of the main comments I hear are: wow that's bright and I wish I had one that bright- makes me not even want to bring mine out. The extra battery pack on the back helps out for long trips- i tend to change my batteries about every other month at a minimum. Plus the extra strap over the top of the head helps to not slide down my face. I really enjoy this headlamp- have had a few others and won't go back.
