Nice lightweight boots
These are great lightweight boots which don't get too hot in the summer time. I normally wear size 10 1/2 US but I ended up ordering the UK 43 (US size 10) for a proper size fit. I found the UK 44 to be too long in the toe area.

Great hiking boots
I purchased these boots for my husband for his birthday. He is very active outdoors, very tough on boots, and is very particular about his boots. He finds the high arch support in most boots uncomfortable, and he has a wide foot, so he needs the wide width. The Kailash GTX Wide Hiking Boots were perfect! He LOVES them. They don't have the annoying high arch support that bothers him, the width is perfect, the boots are very sturdy, comfortable, and nice looking. He did apply waterproofing before wearing them. These boots were hard to find online in his size - altrec was the only site that had them in his size.

I received these last week and they do feel comfy right out of the box. I had to return some Asolo Fugitives due to a minor tear in the material and was looking for another boot available in wide that was a little lighter. These boots seem to be lighter with the same build quality of the Asolo's. I have yet to try them in the dirt yet but am planning a trip to Linville Gorge in a few weeks so we will see how they do. First thing I noticed was the grippy Vibram bottoms that feel like they will stick to anything, the Asolo's were real slippery on wet rocks so I hope these do a little better. They do feel a little snug in the toe-box area but so did my previous boots that were also a wide. I usually wear an 11 extra wide so these and the previous boots were ordered in 12 wide, they both feel about the same as far as volume/space inside. Most hiking boots are going to be a little snug to start out so I don't think it will be a problem. I did notice the Gore-tex seems a little loose inside, but I can't remember how it felt in my Asolo's so this might be normal. Would give a 5 star but haven't tried them on a hike yet only to the store and around the office.
