Sebago Women's Bala Moccasins

Didn't cut it for me.
I bought these in the light gray with magenta-ish laces as fall shoes because I needed something a bit lighter than brown, black or navy. I also thought they looked really cute (online they do). I ordered them in size 9, which is my normal shoe size, and I was disappointed just getting them out of the box. The length of the shoe is added on in the toe, so instead of having the flattering ratio of toe box to laces to rest of the shoe like is pictured, the toe box is longer and narrows out at the end. I understand that shoes are always photographed in the smallest size because it's the cutest, but what I expected and what I got were really far off for these. It also might have been helpful to have a view of the shoes from above, so I'm including that with this review. Additionally, the size 9 was at least a half size too big, and I probably could have gone down a whole size because the leather is soft and will probably stretch. I didn't want to chance it, though, because I have no way of knowing whether the 8s will look cute. (Especially since the Altrec return policy is that the customer pays return shipping!) I went ahead and gave three stars because the shoe seems well made, I like the colors and if they had been what I was expecting, I probably would have kept them. As far as boat shoes go, these are still probably some of the more stylish ones out there, I was just disappointed.
