they are comfortable and warm, an excellent purchase. they tend to run on the smaller size, so if between sizes I rec ordering up. the sole is sturdy enough to wear on short trips outside.

Best slippers at home and in the mountains
I use these shooties almost every day, regardless of whether I am at home or in the backcountry. They are warm, light, and easily packed. Sometimes, they can get a little too warm if you run around too much, but for the most part I have found them extremely comfortable. They do not have great traction, but that hasn't stopped me from using them in all conditions--even in the mud. Though they look like a strange cross of moon boots and clown shoes, I wouldn't trade them for anything. I hope these slippers are restocked immediately because I have recommended them to everyone I know.

Excellent Camp Shoes
I bought the down shooties in order to have some camp shoes that were a little bit lighter, less bulky, and more breathable for the warmer months than my winter down booties. These shooties were worth the money spent and are a great addition to my pack when the day-long hike is done and its time to unwind. The traction on the shooties are great and the down feathers keep my feet warm without overheating them. They are lighter than other types of rubber camp shoes and are easier to pack. They do a nice job resisting the morning dew and are easy to slip on and off. I bought the green color and love them. My only con is that they run a little small. I am 6'2", 180 pounds, and normally wear a size 10 & 1/2. The sizing guide calls for a large but I thankfully listened to other reviews and bought the extra-large. They fit perfect. I only gave this item four stars instead of five due to the misleading sizing guide.
