Initial look at Meteor Light 6
While not a comprehensive review from time, multiple uses and weather conditions, this may serve as an honest initial look at the product. All appearances say this tent is what it's advertised to be--a spacious, high-utility, and smartly designed family/base camp tent. Mildly difficult for 1-person setup due to flexing the long poles and applying necessary stresses without damaging individual segments of pole. With 2 people, it would be a snap. The large mesh surface area is great for anti-condensation although the fully mesh doors could benefit from an optional fabric door for privacy. Door stowage nets on walls next to each door opening are smart. Slightly overlapping zippers on doors have tendency to catch when fully closed and require a little coaxing, but not a serious detractor, providing a better seal against bug entry perhaps. The fly is nice with double vestibule space and circulation vents and quadruple zippers for multiple opening configurations. Plenty of ceiling loops for tying overhead lighting, etc. Nice stowage, low around walls, for easy reach of light gear next to head while sleeping. Headroom is excellent for my 5'8" and taller. The provided J-tent stakes are minimal but better than most cheap ones provided with other tents (recommend purchasing an extra set of X or Y type to supplement). Also, recommend a 10mil tarp from local Lowe's as cheaper and tougher alternative to footprint. A 10'x12' will provide full coverage and reach into both vestibule areas about halfway. The Jacob's foot concept is solid and easy on setup, although plastic construction instead of metal makes me wonder about longevity. This is an excellent tent for a large family with children. Six sleeping bags easily fit abreast each other, with a little elbow room in between.
