Repeat Buyer
2nd pair of these shoes. They lasted with almost everyday use over 1.5yrs. Previous to these I had the Prophecies and I toasted them in a year- But again, I'm hard on these shoes. Hiking, canyoneering the creek for days out, caving, keeping up with the Jeeps in Moab and AZ, etc. Never looked back after I bit the bullet and went with the Gortex. A must have when you're far out there and trying keeping dry and comfortable (plus it keeps out the cactus spines). I also appreciate the added grip of these. I tighten them up for the trails and loosen them down at work and casual times.

Comfortable, supportive, and sharp looking!
I just received these shoes in the mail last Friday, so I have only worn them approximately four times; that is why I only rated them as "good" on durability. If they are like anything else that I have owned from this company, they will deserve an "excellent". I have a wide foot; not so wide that I have to always order a EE, but I definitely have to be selective as to which shoes I purchase, to make sure that they do not run narrow and are true to fit. These shoes are a generous width and do run true to size. They have Gore Tex, an aggressive sole, and a rugged lace system with great toe and heel protection. Not only do I think they will hold up on the trail, but they look great in the office. The shoe laces are of quality and stay laced throughout the day. Also, the insole is top notch and provides a very supportive footbed. If you are considering these shoes, go ahead because you will not be disappointed.

Most comfortable light hikers
Make no mistake. These are very comfortable light hiking shoes. I've worn my first pair completely out in only 7 months. That's the only problem I've had with the Hedgehog. I hike a lot in both urban settings and mountain trails. If I'm not carrying a backpack over 20 lbs., my Vasque shoes (the last is no longer produced) lasted a little over a year. While 7 months isn't unacceptable, it's not a 5 star either. The comfort outweighs the durablility.
