TrekSta Good Stuff
Own two TrekSta shoes, the Roam Hiking Shoes and the Kobra II GTX. Now a TrekSta fan. First, took the Kobra II on day hikes in the Rockies where they proved themselves comfortable, stable, dry, and rock stickie, so much so, that I used them on a one week trip into the Wyoming Wind River range carrying a 40 lb pack. Stable comfort all the way. Good off trail in the high peaks. They now look new after a wash. Disclosure: I bought an after market foot insert for them that gave my narrow feet the added support and padding they need. On to the Roam Hiking Shoes. They are comfortable too, like the Kobra II (especially with the new insert I prefer), but they have a different heel shape, a rocker, that is designed for walking. I adjusted quickly to the different feel. Roam is an excellent street and trail shoe. Both the Kobra and the Roam have rubber in the tread designed not to slip on ice. I will test this shortly and because living in snow country this feature was one reason I bought TrekSta. I do wish the Roam came in two or three colors because I would then use them even more than I do to match the wardrobe. Could use a second pair in a darker color. I would also recommend an all--or mostly all--leather TrekSta for the good restaurants....Great shoes.
