Great Deck Bag
Wanted a deck bag and liked the idea that this was "flat", not domed/preshaped like others. Handy to have the water bottle holder and bilge pump clips. A little difficult to open at first, but once you get the hang of it...no problem. Great bag and everything stays completely dry.
Great Deck Bag!
This bag keeps everything dry as a bone and I love the pump clips and water bottle holder. Keeps everything organized and it stays securely on my boat in the surf. Worth the money.
Awesome Deck Bag
I was hesitant at first because of the price, but I should have bought one last season. This deck bag is 100% waterproof. I was paddling with my camera and was hit by a large wave, when I opened the bag (fearful that my camera was ruined) everything inside was absoluely dry! This bag is truely the best dry deck bag on the market!!!!
Great for cameras, within limits
I used this deck bag on a week-long kayak into Glacier Bay, Alaska. I wanted something that would definitely keep the water out and away from a DSLR, not just a deck bag that is water resistant like most of the deck bags are out there. This one did the trick--splashes, downpouring rain, constant dribbles of water couldn't penetrate the seal. There was room inside for my DSLR camera, pocket binoculars, spare lens and maps. Two things proved less that great, though. 1) given the constant rain, water still got in whenever I stuck my wet hands into the bag. I used a microfiber towel to swab it out every so often, and that helped. This would be a problem with any bag, I suspect. 2) the map pocket under the transparent window is too small for 8.5 x 11 inch sheets, such as the laminated maps I tried to put in there. If you want a bag that will keep outside water out as you're kayaking, this is it. Just beware of the water you might introduce yourself.
Aleutian Deck Bag
The materials and craftsmanship of this bag are top notch. It is constructed very well and should last a long time. My only gripe is that the yellow material between the laminations gets wet while paddling. No water has gotten inside the bag, but I think that mold will probably grow between the lams eventually. I am currently working with Watershed to get a replacement and their customers service has been great so far.
