Peoria’s fresh set of forest-lined singletrack has made it a new Midwest hub, thanks to the Peoria Area Mountain Bike Association’s trailblazing efforts (pambamtb.org).

Your Turn: Tell us about your favorite Peoria adventures, restaurants, and hotels in the comments section below.

PLAY
Head just west of downtown Peoria and hit up Jubilee College State Park for some killer mountain biking (dnr.state.il.us/lands/Landmgt/PARKS/R1/Jubilee.htm). For more singletrack options, check out the Peoria Area Mountain Bike Association's roster of area trails (pambamtb.org). Come evening, pedalers and paddlers hit the revamped riverfront for microbrews and live music.

EAT
Grab a quick, healthy bite at the bohemian One World Cafe. Their eclectic menu offers soy-cheese pizza and chocolate soda (oneworld-cafe.com).

SLEEP
If you want to stay in downtown Peoria, the Mark Twain Hotel is a great boutique hotel that offers complimentary cocktails (doubles from $135; marktwainhotel.com).
